Tiger Television was a hobby closed circuit TV station based in an upstairs bedroom in Aberdeen and operated on an occasional basis between 1968 and 1970.
Participating in the station were Colin Dalziel, Colin Auld and William Fulton.
The station was featured in the BBC TV series "Hobbyhorse" which was shown in 1968 featuring Cliff Morgan as presenter.
The station did programmes on various subjects, showed films, and even interviewed a local politician.
The equipment used included an EMI Vidicon camera operating on the 405 line system in monochrome and home-built ancillary equipment including a sound mixer desk, improvised lighting, and a reel tape recorder.
Unfortunately the station just predated video recorders and affordable colour which would have radically improved the effect, but did nevertheless give a valuable hands-on introduction to TV engineering and production.
