COLIN DALZIELThis is my Home Page - and you are welcome!

*Welcome to my personal internet pages!
I was an early adopter of the internet, and had a very basic home page up and running back in the late 1990's.
I was born in Glasgow in 1953 and attended King's Park Primary School until age 7 before moving to Aberdeen where I completed my education first at Ashley Road Primary School, then Robert Gordon's College.
I did a BSc degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Robert Gordon's (now the RGU) and subsequently had two career paths.
First job was a maintenance engineer with the (then) Independent Broadcasting Authority (became NTL) at Durris near Aberdeen, then Black Hill in Central Scotland.
Changed career in 1998 when I got a job in the Civil Service managing radio spectrum for the Scottish Government.
Unfortunately ill health prompted an early retirement move in 2012 and I am currently doing voluntary fundraising work for the Royal Voluntary Service (formerly WRVS)
I married Marion in 1981 when we moved into a house in Hamilton, Lanarkshire. Our two daughters, Alison and Christine followed then two granddaughters, Courtney and Crystal, then in May 2018 a grandson, Michael, and in August 2020, Jessica.
My interests include being a radio amateur (callsign GM8LBC) where I serve on a committee of the umbrella organisation, the RSGB, to manage repeater applications for licensing.
I also support a local radio club, and do a bit of short wave low power transmitting.
Also look after a lovely little Shih Tzu dog (for my daughter, Christine), and love her to bits (the dog also!)
