Clyde
old photos from the 1930's and 1940's in Scotland
|
My late Father was a keen photographer and left albums with interesting pictures of life in the late 1930's and the immediate post-War period. Many of his childhood holidays were spent on the banks of the River Clyde else on family farms in the Perthshire area. A special section features the Empire Exhibition of 1938 held in Bellahouston Park in Glasgow. I decided to bring these old photos out of the albums and by means of the internet display them to show an intriguing way of life now far gone. I do hope you enjoy these rare images. Dedicated to the memory of Allan Dalziel (1910-1984) |
